Thursday 18th

The three animals in SPM are fine. There were also two people there but they left without argument after I explained about cattle, damage to gates etc. Incidentally on Tuesday when repairing the boardwalk we met another pair in SPM, and as if to make the point the brown steer snorted and stamped at them. Don’t think they’ll be returning soon!

No infrastructure issues today.  The Foodies Festival perimeter fence near the bridge into the reserve is easy to get around.  Unless they fix this we might anticipate some recreational incursion over the weekend …

18th July winnall moors

Very quiet today but winnall  Moors, never saw anyone but that means I saw no cyclists no joggers and no dog walkers perfect? Oh and only one piece of litter....

Wednesday 17th July

Very quiet despite the sunny morning. 3 cows calmly munching in NML near the Fisherman's gate. Had a chat with Mike Allen who was the RO for St Catherine's Hill reserve until he retired.

Only one piece of litter today but did find a mug of coffee/tea complete with tea spoon by the eastern gate on the river Itchen side. Removed it and left it on the bench at Durngate- hopefully the owner will return and collect it!

Please note -

The weekend lookers will have a noisy morning as a circus is setting up on the rugby ground and there is a food festival setting up on the recreation field by the entrance . We had to walk all the way round the field by the temporary heras fencing to get to the bridge

St Swithun's day. Quiet and overcast

4 walkers, no runners, no litter. Drinks can in pond seems to have disappeared. 3 boys just into Nomansland, munching happily. Not terribly confident in the right hand gatepost leading into SPM by the main channel

Sunday 14th July - Warden

Busy mornign strimming along the board walk.

Had a nice catch up with Lynne.

Not much wildlife around, although I did see the little Roe doe.

Sunday 14th July

Three cows in SPM and the goose family heading out for a swim.

Charlotte working hard with the strimmer.

A few annoying runners and some very nice walkers.

Saturday 13th July - Warden

Not much wildlife about this morning, I saw the little Roe doe but not much else. I have put a broken board sign at ///slyly.utter.sweep, it is very bouncy. I have done some more strimming on site as well today.
