Thursday 31st October

Still damp and dreary. A few people, minimal litter (I like Thursdays). Saw the jay, and Miranda (a regular photographer) saw the kingfisher.

Boardwalks: OK but a sag just starting at W3W darkens.soil.twee on the main one … wait and see …

Sunday 27th October - Warden

Fairly nice morning on site. I had a nice catch up with Lynne :) I couldn't get the graffiti of the chalk board unfortunately but I've cleaned it off the plastic display sign. Lot of wildlife about including the little grebe who was quite far off so not the best photo, quite a few red admirals today, a very noisy goldcrest who I couldn't get the best picture of and a very friendly Robin.

Sunday 27th October

Bumped into Charlotte who was stalking a Little Grebe.  It's her last day 🫤.  She will be missed.

One fast runner completely ignored us. A few walkers enjoying the sunshine

A plaque has appeared on the front of the bench at the top of SPM.  Not sure if it was put there in agreement with HIWWT.

Graffiti on the noticeboard.  Charlotte's cleaning it off.

Saturday 26th October - Warden

Been a fairly busy day on Winnall, I've strimemd from the top of the board walk to the start of the next board walk, leaf blown all the paths, spent a long time scrubbing graffiti off the chalk and display board at the durngate entrance and updated the chalk board with a species list.
Quite a few people om site late afternoon and had a chat with quite a few people.

Saturday 26th October

Beautiful muted colours on a damp morning. Lots of cans in my litter pick today, and the Durngate bench was a real mess, with drug paraphernalia packets and soiled underwear in the mix. Yuk!
Very sorry to see Charlotte's lovely species list defaced again.
Most of the Guelder Rose berries have been eaten, but there are still some left. This picture is from 3 weeks ago.

Friday 25th October - Warden

It was nice and quiet this morning and not many people around. There were lots of long tailed tits and Wrens about this morning though.

The chalk board had been written over and defaced again so I will update it at the weekend.
