Thursday 6 June - no excitement today!

Just two people, one beer can and a host of "oh, it must have just fallen out of my pocket" tissues.

Was asked when SPM would be open again.  I said I'd find out.  Is there any update?

Have messaged Sam separately about the latch on the Rec bridge gate.

Wednesday, 5th June

'Quickly' came into No Mans Land to check on ground conditions to move the EM cows in.

Heard an odd noise in the Barton, inspected but couldn't hear or see anything. Went back to path and heard the noise again. Moved some reeds out of the way and found a man gasping for breath and help!

Grabbed his hand and pulled him onto land, as I did this I noticed he was in the nude! He was in shock and possibly on drugs. He was difficult to control as he was not thinking properly. But I called the police and ambulance who came rather quickly considering the severity of what was happening.

This was a new one for me and hopefully something that does not happen again.

Difficult to know what to do in a situation such as this. My best advise is to always considerer you safety first. What I did may not have been the safest and is not encouraged. Please do not hesitate to call me when situations may escalate quickly.

Thank you all for your support.

Post festival

No reports of this on Fenella's bench so wonder if its related to the festival.
2 runners, 1 walker - as in race walking. Plenty of song. Not much litter, well done weekend crew
Coat by path to reed bed, complete with water bottle

Sunday 2nd June - Warden

Lots more strimming done although I didn't get to the board walk today. Had a few complaints from people about the Chilli and Cheese festival and not a lot of birds about again.

4 different bike incidents today and a large group of teens swimming from the bank opposite North Walls.

Sunday 2nd June

A few people about although not very tranquil;  loud music from the Cheese Festival could be heard across the reserve from 8am

The mid-south section of the boardwalk could do with another prune.  I think it grew another two inches while I was looking at it!

Some booze tins in the sluice seating area (is that the picnic area or the dipping pond???)

Pair of sunglasses left on the pond path.

Sunbathing duck family on the pier.

Lots of footprints around the mosaic steps.

Saturday 1st June - Warden

Very quiet day at Winnall for people and wildlife, the Chilli and Cheese festival had loud music going all day which is why the wildlife was hidden away I imagine.

Some more strimming done along the paths from the Durngate entrance.

Finally met Rachel and we had a catch up.

Saturday 1st June

Mrs Mallard let me take this picture. Less appealing sights at the mosaic (let's just say discarded personal hygiene products..). Quieter than usual with visitors. Missed my regulars!

Tissues, tissues everywhere and dog mess by the Durngate bench. More than one dog.

Swan Project member of staff arrived as I was leaving to catch the injuered goose.

Met Charlotte and was able to tell her. Admired the strimming!

The gipsywort is coming out. Always enjoy that one.
